Correspondence primarily with Board of Commissioners of Public Works, presidents and cashiers of State Bank of Illinois and Bank of Illinois at Shawneetown, Auditor of Public Accounts, Governor, General Assembly and state agents to sell bonds and make interest payments principally concerns payments made to Commissioners, engineers and contractors; purchase of equipment, machinery and supplies for various internal improvement projects; procurement of loans for inernal improvements; sales and interest payments for state bonds; subscription to bank stock; and reports to General Assembly and Governor.
